WE WILL NOT BE MAILING OVERDRAFT NOTICES

Due to changes at the post office, the mail leaves town before checks are posted and withdrawn from your account. Therefore, we can no longer mail your overdraft notice in a timely manner. By the time the notice arrives in your mail box too much time has passed. As of January 15th, 2015, your credit union will NO LONGER be sending paper notices. In this age of electronic notices, you can receive email alerts to assist you in monitoring your account. To receive an alert you will need to be signed up for our online banking system, Virtual Branch (VB). If you have not done that, click on the VB button on the top of the left menu and then click on Enroll Online.

Once you have signed up, make sure you have a valid email address listed under the Self Service tab, under Personal Information. You can set up alerts by choosing Account Alert under the Alerts heading. These alerts directing you to review your account will serve the same purpose as this notice. When you set up the first alert on the list, which is the notify me if "My account balance is below $_?_"', you may want to set it a little higher than (zero) .00 to give yourself time to make a deposit to avoid overdraft charges. The other thing that these notices do is to notify you when "Insufficient funds cause overdraft protection to occur" and "Insufficient funds cause an automatic transfer to occur." There are various other alerts that you may want to set up also.
