CU Grow Program
As a parent, you want to teach your child solid saving habits now that will help them in the future.
The Co-op Credit Union CU grow Program encourages kids, teens and young adults to learn about finances first-hand through an interactive tool called “CU Grow – Youth” available in your CCU Online Banking Platform or CCU Mobile App. CU Grow allows parents to assign tasks to your young saver and financially reward them for successfully completing tasks, getting good grades and making good financial decisions by easily transferring money from your Co-op Credit Union account to theirs.
You can also lend your child money pay them an allowance and send them money through this simple tool. For every good financial decision your child makes, they’ll be awarded a trophy!
What can I do with CU grow?
Account
- Your child can request money from you. You can approve or deny the request
- If your child has a checking account, you can set spending limits on their debit card
- Monitor your child’s checking account transactions and make sure they are making good financial decisions
Responsibility
- Assign and hold your child responsible for chores, tasks and small loans.
Savings
- Create and track savings goals together
- Create a budget
Teaching
- Learn about lending, interest and making payments in a fun, interactive way.
- View the educational videos and earn trophies by doing so
If your child does not have an account at Co-op Credit Union, you can visit one of our locations or contact us to open an account.
How do I enroll in CU grow?
The CU grow program is located within our Online and Mobile Banking Platform. You must first be enrolled in Online and Mobile Banking. Once enrolled, look for the CU grow program Widget on the menu bar. The parent must enroll in the CU grow program first
How do I create / update my budget?
To set a budget with your parent:
- Sign in to Online Banking and open the CU grow program
- On the “Overview” tab, select “Create/Update budget.”
- With parent’s help, enter your total deposits, expenses, short-term savings, long-term savings, charitable giving and spending goals for the month.
- Once complete, select “Submit.”
How do I earn trophies?
You can earn trophies by completing any of the following requirements:
- Make 5 loan payments on time
- Pay off a loan -Reach your savings goal
- Complete a monthly budget -Complete 10 tasks
How do I view my place on the trophy leaderboard?
To view your place on the trophy leaderboard, you must:
- Sign into Online or Mobile Banking and open CU grow program
- Select the “trophies earned this month” button next your avatar photo at the top of the page.
- Select the “Leaderboard” tab
- You can view your place on the leaderboard for your household and your place on the leaderboard for all CU grow program participants at Co-op Credit Union
